PRESS RELEASE
DATE: 28th September 2005

With just two weeks to go until TBDO! 05 - Ted's Big 'Do Without' Challenge on Friday 14th October 2005, actor and Forever Friends Appeal Vice President, Anthony Head, has brought the event centre stage by taking his teddy bear for a day out at the Theatre Royal in Bath, to kick off the final countdown in style and encourage yet more people to take part.

As a pro-active supporter of The Forever Friends Appeal, Anthony Head was proud to be pictured with his bear. As well as being a regular visitor to the Children's Ward at the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Anthony also undertook a Valentine phone call auction in February which raised over £1650 for the Appeal. He also helped to launch the charity's current campaign for an £800k vital second CT Scanner with an appearance at the charity's recent 'Jamie Cullum on the Rec' concert. Anthony is currently performing with Richard E. Grant in the play 'Otherwise Engaged' at The Theatre Royal Bath until Saturday 1st October.

As Anthony explains: "I am delighted to be taking part in The Forever Friends Appeal's TBDO! 05 event, especially as the funds raised are going towards the CT Scanner Campaign. With this year's new 'do without' theme, there are even more ways to take part and whatever people choose to do, their fundraising efforts are sure to make a real contribution towards this incredible piece of state-of-the-art medical equipment, which is used to diagnose a variety of illnesses and injuries".

Ruth Wilkinson, Events Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, said: "We are delighted that such a high profile and popular celebrity is willing to join in the fun for TBDO! 05 and hope that even more people will be inspired to register".

There are many ways that people can take part in this year's Ted's Big 'Do Without' Challenge, from sacrificing something simple such as that daily cup of tea, through to 'doing without' your car, raffling a day off work, or alternatively taking their teddy bear out for the day or undertaking other fundraising activities.
