A new comedy drama for ITV

Kris Marshall and Bryan Dick lead the cast in SOLD, a new six part comedy drama for ITV set in the dog-eat-dog world of estate agents.

The series is set in the world of Colubrines Estate Agents, where the unscrupulous staff are masters of high-pressure selling and dirty tricks. However, there's one notable exception at Colubrines: our hero Danny (Bryan Dick - Bleak House, Marple, The Virgin Queen).

Danny is a rare breed: an estate agent with a heart. He understands that while money can't bring you happiness, your dream home really can.

A master of intuition, Danny is able to comprehend the hopes and fears of the buyers and sellers that he meets. Then he does everything in his power to make sure these dreams come true. But Danny has to work alongside a team of snakes and manipulators - notably amoral money-mad Matt (Kris Marshall - Catwalk Dogs, Murderr City, My Family) and bitch-from-hell Mel, played by Christina Cole (MissPettigrew Lives for a Day, Casino Royale, Jane Eyre). Anthony Head (Persuasion, Little Britain, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is their ruthless leader Mr Colubrine, rarely seen but ever present.

The staff of Colubrines also include Ella Smith (Cape Wrath) as bubbly man-eater Phoebe and stand-up comic Dan Johnston as debt-ridden Jonty.

ITV Director of Drama Laura Mackie says: "This is a colourful, witty and perceptive workplace drama with a contemporary twist that draws upon the highs and lows of life in the highly competitive world of estate agency. Steve Coombes' scripts combine great warmth and wicked black humour and he has created a fantastic group of characters the audience should love and hate in equal measure.

SOLD films this summer in and around London for transmission later in 2007 and is made by Touchpaper Television, part of the RDF Media Group. The lead writer is Steve Coombes (Outlaws, New Tricks, Hustle) and the lead director is Cilla Ware (Primeval, Spooks, Wild at Heart).
